zRose Absolute (Rosa Damascena), 5% oil blend, by Now Foods (30 ml) Information for reference only:- Fragrant, symbolic, and long-lasting, there is nothing in this world that can compare to the beauty and magnificence that is the rose. It has a long, layered history as rich as its fragrance. The Romans believed roses could prevent drunkenness, so they would scatter the petals at banquets. St. Dominic believed the Virgin Mary had visited him and gave him the first rosary, which was made with rose-scented beads. In the Middle Ages, roses were used as an ingredient in various healing balms used to treat ailments like lung disease and asthma. Symbolically, the rose represents transcendent desire in Sufi tradition, divine love in Christian tradition, and also represents the Rosacrucian order. Touted as a very feminine oil, rose oil is excellent for skin care and emotional balance. It’s also very expensive: it takes 180 pounds of roses to make one ounce of rose oil. Therefore, it is not unusual to find it “cut” with another oil. The benefits are still in abundance, but the cost is more affordable!
