Äxä, pictured, is a 7 year old Lappish reindeer dog who is currently with us whilst looking for a new home. Her owner, Iris Aintila, was breeding these dogs in Swedish Karasuando but died suddenly leaving Axa behind with no-one to care for her long term. Iriss son, Bjorn Hammar, lives in Kenya so we dont have any access to any paperwork about her until he returns for the funeral in a few weeks. We do know, however, that she has been chipped, and we are trying to find out from the local vets if they have a history of treatment or vaccinations for her in the meantime. She is a little shaken up by the last week or two and therefore a little shy but she also seems fairly friendly and has no signs of aggression with our other dogs. We dont know if she has ever worked but if someone wants to try her, they are welcome. We can care for her in the meantime but she isnt chain trained so she is taking up one of our cage spaces at present so it would be great if she could find a loving forever home fairly quickly.
