Like is a preposition and comes before a noun or pronoun. EX: you’re like a child! 2. As is a conjunction and comes before a clause (subject and verb/auxiliary) EX: she’s scared, as we all are. 3. We often use like as a conjunction instead of as. It’s less formal. EX: He fooled me, like he fooled everybody. 4. We sometimes invert the subject and verb after as (but never after like). EX: He’s tall, as is his father. 5. We use the preposition unlike to describe differences. EX: Unlike you, I love American comedies. 6. In very informal speech, we can use be + like to introduce somebody’s words. EX: He was like, “I’m so happy!” [TThanhHang]
