Βrookly is a gorgeous 6 year-old, mix breed, that has lived his whole life in the streets. He has a long history as a stray in the area of Ano Ilisia, Athens, being a really popular fellow, very sociable and lovable, that many people liked and gave him treats every day. He used to be a steady customer in many fast food stores and kiosks, where, he would either beg for food, or sometimes grab a croissant or a cookie out of the tables! He would wander during the day and sleep in a parking lot at night. One of his favorite pastimes was hanging around the National University campus, where, safe from cars and traffic, he enjoyed the company of students, he was fed, petted and even allowed to enter the lecture halls and attend the classes! That is where he found shelter two years ago, when he was hit by a motorbike and left with a seriously injured leg. After he recovered, he was released out in the streets again, but Brookly never stopped visiting the university area. However, as much as he was loved by lots of people, his being inside the campus, wasn’t totally acceptable. People from the campus authorities were annoyed by his presence around the canteen and his entering the halls and they started making complaints and threats about him, insisting on his removal. In order to protect him, we decided that the best thing to do is to take him off the streets and transfer him to a safer place, where he would no longer be exposed to constant danger. Bringing Brookly to the shelter, of course, didn’t make him happy. Although he is safer now, he is absolutely sad and miserable. He has lived free his entire life, among humans and being in a cage, has definitely broken his spirit. Apart from that, he is the joy of life, a big puppy, adorable, affectionate, he loves people, cuddles, walks and food (but not cats!). He gets along fine with other dogs, however, sometimes he can become defending with food. He is vaccinated, treated for parasites, neutered and healthy. Brookly is desperately looking for a warm, loving home to call his own and to live free among his humans! Please give this boy a chance and help him by sharing his post with your friends!
