כבר כמה שבועות שאני מנהל קרב של מילים בדף האנגלי של בצלם. לפני כמה דקות השארתי שם את התגובה הבאה: I deeply doubt the idea that anyone here would reply or bother to take a look; after all, most of BTselem supporters are not here to study facts, but to recycle whatever BTselem feeds them. Its OK, of course. Personal choice is legitimate and in the base of democracy. Yet democracy is the rule of law; thus courts play a crucial role in real democracy, and Supreme Courts lead democracies. BTselem appealed to the Israeli Supreme Court and demanded to enforce Israeli Formal TV channel to air the list of Gazan children killed by Israeli forces during the last war (assuming all the details are correct - so said the court!). Result? You aint gonna like it; the Israeli Supreme Court rejected the appeal since it is of distinct political character. Short, simple, to the point. A link to the verdict? Why not? On the other hand, BTselem is a Israeli organisation; many of its members and workers speak very good Hebrew; they are also obliged to truth - so they say; the workers are even well paid in the service of truth; BTselem supporters may ask these people to translate the verdict - they are entitled to know the truth, right? Khagai Elad, for instance, the GM, is an excellent Hebrew and English speaker. He can do the translating for all. Im sure the translation will be excellent. Although the entire document is important, I suggest to focus on articles 17, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 25, and 27. Good day everybody. פסק-דין בתיק בגץ 5228/14 elyon1.court.gov.il
