לחם עבודה: Political Adviser - Arab Israeli Affairs This is an outstanding opportunity to make a key contribution to the British Embassy’s engagement with the Israeli Arab community. Leading the Embassy’s political outreach efforts to Israel’s Arab community, the job provides opportunities for work on political affairs, press and communications, projects and visits. We are looking for a dynamic, self-starting individual who can produce high-quality, fast work with minimal supervision. The initial contract will be for one year, with a three-month probationary period. The salary will be NIS 10,954 (plus benefits). Working hours: Mondays to Thursdays 08:00 – 16:00; Fridays 08:00 – 13:30. Parking facilities will not be provided or paid for by the Embassy. Responsibilities will include: · Overseeing the Embassy’s strategy on Arab Israeli affairs, covering political outreach, communications and projects work strands. · Working closely with the Tech Hub, UKTI and wider Embassy teams to lead a cross-Embassy Arab Israeli engagement team. · Coordinating outreach to and contact with the Arab Israeli community in Israel, by building and maintaining relationships with civil society, community groups and Arab Israeli leaders at national and local levels, including working directly with the Ambassador. · Providing timely, high quality political reporting, analysis and advice on Arab Israeli issues, including support for the Middle East Peace Process, Bedouin affairs, political inclusion and violence in Arab Israeli communities · Designing and delivering projects relating to the Arab Israeli community, including overseeing our funding strategy for the Arab community, driving the embassy’s flagship project work on Jewish-Arab coexistence through football, in conjunction with the English Football Association · Work with the Head of Communications to provide oversight to the Embassy’s Arab media consultant · Additional tasks as required, including swift and accurate translation from Arabic to English and English to Arabic, and support to the wider Political team on visits. The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate: · Sound analytical skills; · Proven organisational and administrative skills; · Creativity, flexibility and good communications skills; · An ability to work well both in a team and independently, under pressure; · Fluency in English, Hebrew and Arabic; and · Good IT skills.
