اللّهُمّ امْدُدْ لِي فِي عُمْرِي، O Allah: (please do) prolong my lifetime, وَأَوْسِعْ لِي فِي رِزْقِي، And expand my sustenance, وَأَصِحّ لِي جِسْمِي، And make my body healthy, وَبَلّغْنِي أَمَلِي، And make me attain my hopes, وَإِنْ كُنْتُ مِنَ الأَشْقِيَاءِ فَامْحُنِي مِنَ الأَشْقِيَاءِ And if I am written with the unhappy ones, (please) erase my name from this list, وَاكْتُبْنِي مِنَ السّعَدَاءِ، And write it with the happy ones, فَإِنّكَ قُلْتَ فِي كِتَابِكَ المُنْزَلِ عَلَى نَبِيّكَ المُرْسَلِ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: For You have said in Your Book that You revealed to Your missioned Prophet, Your peace be upon him and his Household: (يَمْحُو اللّهُ مَايَشَاءُ وَيُثْبِتُ وَعِنْدَهُ أُمّ الكِتَابِ) “Allah makes to pass away and establishes what He pleases, and with Him is the basis of the Book.” ALLAAHUMMAMA-DUD LEE FEE U’MREE WA AWSIA’-LEE FEE RIZQEE WA AS’IH’H’A LEE JISMEE WA BALLIGHNEE AMALEE WA IN KUNTU MINAL ASHQIYAAA-I FAM-H’UNEE MINAL ASHQIYAAA WAK-TUBNEE MINAS SU-A’DAAA FA-INNAKA QULTA FEE KITAABIKAL MUNZALI A’LAA NABIYYKAL MURSAL S’ALAWAATUKA A’LAYHI WA AALIHEE YAMH’ULLAAHU MAA YASHAAA-U WA YUTHBITU WA I’NDAHOO UMMUL KITAAB للّهُمّ اجْعَلْ فِيمَا تَقْضِي وَفِيمَا تُقَدّرُ O Allah: (please), among the matters that You decide and make, مِنَ الأَمْرِ المَحْتُومِ From among the inevitable affairs, وَفِيمَا تَفْرُقُ مِنَ الأَمْرِ الحَكِيمِ And from among the wise matters that You make distinct, ي لَيْلَةِ القَدْرِ At the Grand Night نَ القَضَاءِ الّذِي لا يُرَدّ وَلا يُبَدّلُ From among the act that is neither rejected nor altered, أَنْ تَكْتُبَنِي مِنْ حُجَّاجِ بَيْتِكَ الحَرَامِ That You decide me to be with the pilgrims to Your Holy House, فِي عَامِي هذَا At this year, المَبْرُورِ حَجّهُمُ، Those whose pilgrimage is admitted, المَشْكُورِ سَعْيُهُمُ، Whose efforts are praised, لمَغْفُورِ ذُنُوبُهُمُ، Whose sins are forgiven, المُكَفّرِ عَنْهُمْ سَيّئَاتُهُمْ، And whose offenses and pardoned. وَاجْعَلْ فِيمَا تِقْضِي وَتُقَدّرُ And (please), among the matters that You decide and make, نْ تُطِيلَ عُمْرِي، Decide to prolong my lifetime, وَتُوَسّعَ لِي فِي رِزْقِي. And to expand my sustenance. ALLAAHUMMAJ-A’L FEEMAA TAQZ”EE WA FEEMAA TUQADDIRU MINAL AMRIL MAH’TOOM WA FEEMA TAFRUQU MINAL AMRIL H’AKEEM FEE LAYLATIL QADR MINAL QAZ”AAA-IL LAD’EE LAA YURADDU WA LAA YUBADDALU AN TAKTUBANEE MIN H’UJJAAJI BAYTIKAL H’ARAAM FEE A’AMEE HAAD’AL MABROOR H’UJJUHUMUL MASHKOOR SAA’-YUHUMUL MAGHFOOR D’UNOOBUHUMAL MUKAFFARI A’NHUM SAYYI-AATUHUM WAJ-A’L FEEMA TAQZ”EE WA TAQADDIRU AN TUT’EEL U’MREE WA TUWASSI-A’LEE FEE RIZQEE 6. Recite the following supplication 3 that is mentioned in the book of ‘Iqbal al-A`mal’ : يَا بَاطِناً فِي ظُهُورِهِ، O He Who is intrinsic though He is evident, ويَا ظَاهِراً فِي بُطُونِهِ، And He Who is evident though He is intrinsic; وَيَا بَاطِناً لَيْسَ يَخْفَى، O He Who is intrinsic that is not missed وَيَا ظَاهِراً لَيْسَ يُرَى، And He Who is evident but He cannot be seen; يَا مَوْصُوفاً لا يَبْلُغُ بِكَيْنُونَتِهِ مَوْصُوفٌ وَلا حَدّ مَحْدُودٌ، O He Who is described, but neither any other described thing nor can any boundary attain His Being; وَيَا غَائِباً غَيْرَ مَفْقُودٍ، O He Who is absent but not lost, وَيَا شَاهِداً غَيْرَ مَشْهُودٍ، And He Who is present but not witnessed. يُطْلَبُ فَيُصَابُ، When He is sought, He shall be obtained, وَلَمْ يَخْلُ مِنْهُ السّمَاوَاتُ وَالأَرْضُ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ، And neither the heavens, nor the earth nor can anything that is between them be empty of Him. لا يُدْرَكُ بِكَيْفٍ، He cannot be realized by asking ‘How is He?’ وَلا يُؤَيّنُ بِأَيْنٍ وَلا بِحَيْثٍ، And His place cannot be identified by asking, ‘Where is He?’ or ‘What is His place?’ أَنْتَ نُورُ النّورِ وَرَبّ الأَرْبَابِ، You are verily the light of all lights and the Lord of all lords. أَحَطْتَ بِجَمِيعِ الأُمورِ، You have comprehended all things. سُبحَانَ مَنْ لَيْسَ كَمِثِلهِ شَيْءٌ Glory be to Him Whose like is nonexistent, وَهُوَ السّميعُ البَصيرُ! And He is the All-hearing, the All-seeing. سبحَانَ مَنْ هُوَ هكَذَا وَلا هَكَذَا غَيْرُه! Glory be to Him Who is in this state and nothing else can be ever in his state. YAA BAAT’INAN FEE Z’UHOORIHI WA YAA Z’AAHIRAN FEBUT’OONIHI WA YAA BAAT’INAN LAYSA YAKHFAA WA YAA Z’AAHIRAN LAYSA YURAA YAA MAWS’OOFAN LAA YABLUGHU BI-KAYNOONATIHI MAWS’OOFUN WA LAA H’ADDUN MAH’DOOD WA YAA GHAAA-IBAN GHAYRA MAFQOOD WA YAA SHAAHIDAN GHAYRA MASH-HOOD YUT’LABU FA-YUS’AABU WA LAM YAKHLU MINHUS SAMAAWAATU WAL ARZ” WA MAA BAYNAHUMAA T’ARFATA A’YN LAA YUDRAKU BI-KAYFIN WA LAA YOO-AYYANU BI-AYN WA LAA BI-H’AYTHU ANTA NOORUN NOOR WA RABBUL ARBAAB AH’AT’TA BI-JAMEE-I’L UMOOR SUBH’AANA MAN LAYSA KAMITHLIHI SHAY-UN WA HUWAS SAMEE-U’L BAS’EER SUBH’AANA MAN HUWA HAAKAD’AA WA LAA HAAKAD’AA GHAYRUHU 7. Do a new ghusl (bathing), other than the first one, at the last hours of night. 8. Recite the following supplication 4 :Mp3 يَا رَبّ لَيْلَةِ القَدْرِ y¡ rabba laylati alqadri O the Lord of the Grand Night وَجَاعِلَهَا خَيْراً مِنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ، wa j¡`ilah¡ khayran min alfi shahrin And He Who decided it to be better than one thousand months; وَرَبّ اللّيْلِ وَالنّهَارِ wa rabba allayli wal-nnah¡ri And the Lord of night and day وَالجِبَالِ وَالبِحَارِ wal-jib¡li wal-bi¦¡ri And the Lord of mountains and oceans, وَالظّلَمِ وَالأَنْوَارِ wal-¨¨ulami wal-anw¡ri And the Lord of darkness and light, وَالأَرْضِ وَالسّمَاءِ، wal-ar¤i wal-ssam¡‘i And the earth and the heavens. يَا بَارِئُ يَا مُصَوّرُ y¡ b¡ri’u y¡ mu¥awwiru O the Maker, O the Fashioner, يَا حَنَّانُ يَا مَنَّانُ، y¡ ¦ann¡nu y¡ mann¡nu O the All-tender, O the All-favorer يَا اللّهُ يَا رَحْمَانُ y¡ all¡hu y¡ ra¦m¡nu O Allah, O the All-beneficent, يَا اللّهُ يَا قَيّومُ y¡ all¡hu y¡ qayy£mu O Allah, O the Self-Subsisting, يَا اللّهُ يَا بَدِيعُ، y¡ all¡hu y¡ bad¢`u O Allah, O the wonderful Originator, يَا اللّهُ يَا اللّهُ يَا اللّهُ y¡ all¡hu y¡ all¡hu y¡ all¡hu O Allah; O Allah; O Allah; لَكَ الأَسْمَاءُ الحُسْنَى، laka alasm¡‘u al¦usn¡ To You are the Most Excellent Names, وَالأَمْثَالُ العُلْيَا، wal-amth¡lu al`ul¢¡ And the most elevated examples, وَالكِبْرِيَاءُ وَالآلاءُ، wal-kibry¡‘u wal-¡l¡‘u And greatness and bounties. أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُصَلّيَ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ، as’aluka an tu¥alliya `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin I beseech You to bless Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad, وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَ اسْمِي فِي هذِهِ اللّيْلَةِ فِي السّعَدَاءِ، wa an taj`ala asmy f¢ hadhihi allaylati f¢ alssu`ad¡‘i And to include my name with the list of the happiest ones, وَرُوحِي مَعَ الشّهَدَاءِ، wa r£¦y ma`a alshshuhad¡‘i And to add my soul to the martyrs, وَإِحْسَانِي فِي عِلّيّينَ، wa i¦s¡ny f¢ `illiyy¢na And record my good deeds in the most exalted rank وَإِسَاءَتِي مَغْفُورَةً، wa is¡‘aty maghf£ratan And to decide my offense to be forgiven, وَأَنْ تَهَبَ لِي يَقِيناً تُبَاشِرُ بِهِ قَلْبِي، wa an tahaba l¢ yaq¢nan tub¡shiru bihi qalb¢ And to grant me certitude that fills in my heart وَإِيمَاناً يُذْهِبُ الشّكّ عَنّي، wa ‘¢m¡nan yudhhibu alshshkk `ann¢ And faith that removes dubiosity from me وَتُرْضِيَنِي بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِي، wa tur¤iyany bim¡ qasamta l¢ And to make me feel satisfied with that which You decide for me وَآتِنَا فِي الدّنْيَا حَسَنَةً، wa ¡tin¡ f¢ aldduny¡ ¦asanatan And (please) grant us reward in this world وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً، wa f¢ al¡khirati ¦asanatan And reward in the Hereafter, وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ الحَرِيقِ، wa qin¡ `adh¡ba alnn¡ri al¦ar¢qi And save us from the torment of the burning Fire, وَارْزُقْنِي فِيهَا ذِكْرَكَ وَشُكْرَكَ وَالرّغْبَةَ إِلَيْكَ، warzuqny f¢h¡ dhikraka wa shukraka wal-rraghbata ilayka And (also) confer upon us at this night Your mentioning, thanking You, and desiring for You, وَالإِنَابَةَ وَالتّوْفِيقَ لِمَا وَفّقْتَ لَهُ مُحَمّداً وَآلَ مُحَمّدٍ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمُ السّلامُ. wal-in¡bata wal-ttawf¢qa lim¡ waffaqta lahu mu¦ammadan wa ¡la mu¦ammadin `alayhi wa `alayhimu alssal¡mu And turning to You, and success to that to which You led Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad, peace be upon him and them. It is also recommended to say the following supplication: يَا مُدَبّرَ الأُمُورِ، y¡ mudabbira ala’um£ri O the Director of all affairs; يَا بَاعِثَ مَنْ فِي القُبُورِ، y¡ b¡`itha man f¢ alqub£ri O the Resurrector of all those in graves; يَا مُجْرِيَ البُحُورِ، y¡ mujriya albu¦£ri O He Who causes oceans to flow; يَا مُلَيّنَ الحَدِيدِ لِدَاوُدَ y¡ mulayyina al¦ad¢di lid¡w£da O He Who made the iron pliant for (Prophet) David; صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ… ¥alli `al¡ mu¦ammadin wa ¡li mu¦ammadin… (Please) send blessings upon Mu¦ammad and the Household of Mu¦ammad… You may here mention your needs, and then continue: This very night; this very night. al-laylata al-laylata اللّيْلَة اللّيْلَةَ. You may raise both your hands while saying this supplication. It is also recommended to repeat this supplication in all states—sitting, standing, prostrating... etc. at this night as well as the last night of Ramadhan.
