The western area was shelled from tanks based along Jedaida-Sahnaya. Meanwhile, intermittent clashes broke out on the same front. Regime helicopters and jetfighters flew over the city. Assad’s forces renewed their attempts to re-claim control over the city. This morning, a military convoy made up of military vehicles and tanks entered the city via the eastern entrance. By sunset, the convoy left the city. Combat fronts in the city witnessed relative calm interrupted by mutual sniper operations and light-weapon skirmishes. *** Humanitarian situation*** Over the past nine months the city of Daraya has been surrounded by tens of regime checkpoints forming a tight siege and resulting in dire shortage in all the necessities of life amid a complete blackout of electricity and communications.
