Project Summary: U.S. engineering firm Fluor Corporation (Fluor) was awarded a management consultancy contract worth $72 million (SR270 million) by Saudi Public Investment Fund for the Saudi Landbridge project. Fluor will manage the work of the contractors and experimental operation of the Saudi Landbridge project over a period of 84 months. The Saudi Landbridge line will run from Jeddah Islamic Port to Riyadh and be connected with the Riyadh-Dammam line. Also, the Saudi Landbridge will provide a new route connecting Dammam to Jubail. The project will result in more transit cargo and more savings in regional freight economy as it will improve efficiency for freight of cargo imported from East Asian countries and from Europe and North America.
