ಶ್ರೀ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ ಗೋಕರ್ಣದ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಹಾಬಲೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಶಿವಗಂಗಾ ವಿವಾಹೋತ್ಸವವು ಆಶ್ವೀಜ ಬಹುಳ ಚತುರ್ದಶಿ ದಿನ ವೈಭವದಿಂದ ಜರುಗಿತು . ಗೋಕರ್ಣದ ವಿಶಾಲವಾದ ಮಹಾಬಲೇಶ್ವರ ಕಡಲ ತೀರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೂರ್ಯ ಪಶ್ಚಿಮಾ೦ಬುಧಿಗೆ ತೆರಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ಗೋಧೂಳಿ ಮುಹೂರ್ತದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಸ್ರಾರು ಭಕ್ತ ಜನರ ಸಮ್ಮುಖದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿತ ವಧುವಾಗಿ ಬಂದ ಗಂಗಾಮಾತೆ ಜಗದೀಶ್ವರನನ್ನು ವಿವಾಹವಾದಳು. ಕಡಲಿನ ಅಬ್ಬರ, ವಾದ್ಯಘೋಷ , ವೇದಘೋಷ, ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ತೋರಣ, ಜಾನಪದ ಹಾಡುಗಳು ಉತ್ಸವಕ್ಕೆ ಮೆರುಗನ್ನು ನೀಡಿದವು. ವಿವಾಹ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವದ ನಂತರ ಶಿವ -ಗಂಗೆಯರು ಶ್ರೀ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ‘ಅಮೃತಾನ್ನ’ ಭೋಜನ ಶಾಲೆಗೆ ಚಿತ್ತೈಸಿ ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ಶೃಂಗಾರಗೊಂಡ ಮಂಟಪದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರಾಜೋಪಚಾರ ಪೂಜೆ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದರು. ಆನಂತರ ಪ್ರಸಾದ ವಿತರಣೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು . ಉಪಾಧಿವಂತ ಮಂಡಲದ ಸದಸ್ಯರು, ಊರ ನಾಗರಿಕರು, ಭಕ್ತಾದಿಗಳು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು . On the auspicious day of ashweeja bahula chaturdashi (22-10-2014) Shiva-Ganga marriage ceremony concluded with pomp and glory in the Sea shore of Sri Kshetra Gokarna. In the presence of number of devotees Gangamata married Lord Shiva as per the tradition. Special decoration, folk songs, chanting of mantra gives the special touch to this marriage ceremony. Jagadeeshwara with his bride Gangamata came to ‘Amrutanna’ hall where pooja and deva rajopachara seva performed. A good number of people were present. srigokarna.org
