දිවංගත අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය එස්.ඩබ්ලිව්.ආර්.ඩී. බණ්ඩාරනායක මහතාගේ 55 වන ගුණ සැමරුම..... 1926 වසරේ දී කොළඹ මහනගර සභාවේ මන්ත්‍රීවරයෙකු ලෙස තේරී පත්වු එස්.ඩබ්ලිව්.ආර්.ඩී. බණ්ඩාරනායක මහතා පක්ෂ සහ සංවිධාන රැසක කටයුතු කර ඇති අතර 1951 දී එක්සත් ජාතික පක්ෂයෙන් ඉවත්ව ශ්‍රී ලංකා නිදහස් පක්ෂය පිහිටුවීමට පුරෝගාමිව කටයුතු කළේය.1956 වසරේ දී පංච මහා බලවේගයන් ඒකරාශි කරගනිමින් ශ්‍රී ලංකා නිදහස් පක්ෂය බලයට පත් කිරීමට සමත්වු බණ්ඩාරනායක මහතා අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය ධූරයට පත්විය. 1959 වසරේ සැප්තැම්බර් 26 වන දා බණ්ඩාරනායක මහතා වෙඩි ප්‍රහාරයකින් ඝාතනයට ලක්වුණි. මෙරට දේශපාලන ඉතිහාසයේ නොමැකෙන සලකුණක් තැබු එස්.ඩබ්ලිව්.ආර්.ඩී. බණ්ඩාරනායක මහතා ඝාතනයට ලක්වන විට 60 වන වියේ පසුවිය.ඒ නිමිත්තෙන් ඊයේ (26) පෙරවරුවේ හොරගොල්ල බණ්ඩාරනායක සමාධිය අසළ දී ගුණානුස්මරණ උත්සවයක් සංවිධානය කර තිබුණි. එම අවස්ථාවට හිටපු ජනාධිපති චන්ද්‍රිකා බණ්ඩාරනායක කුමාරතුංග මහත්මිය ඇතුළු පවුලේ සමාජිකයින් මෙන්ම අග්‍රාමාත්‍ය දී.මු. ජයරත්න, ජෙනරාල් සරත් ෆොන්සේකා මහතා ඇතුළු පිරිසක් ද සහභාගි වී තිබේ. SWRD Bandaranaike commemorated – 55th death anniversary Yesterday marked the 55th death anniversary of the fourth Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, the Late S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike, who gave leadership to the social revolution of 1956.The late S W R D. Bandaranaike who entered national politics as the Minister of Health and Local government in the first cabinet of 1947, later left the United National Party and established the Sri Lanka Freedom Party. Bandaranaike etched his name firmly in the history books of Sri Lanka, by uniting the people and laying the foundation for a social revolution. The voice he raised for the masses was silenced in 1959 by an assassin.The 55th commemoration of the death anniversary of the Late Prime Minister was held at the Bandaranaike Memorial in Horagolla. The lives of the world’s first woman Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike and former Speaker Anura Bandaranaike, were also commemorated at the event. The 55th death anniversary of former Prime Minister S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike was held at the Bandaranaike Samadhi in Horagolla this morning. Prime Minister D.M.
