Please hurry . . . Phoenix is a wonderful, young boy. He doesnt have a heartbreaking story, he is just an exceptionally good dog who will die this afternoon, without a foster or adopter. A volunteer writes: Phoenix is a handsome, playful youngster; hes a good dog says his previous owner. Named after the mythological bird venerated by many cultures, our Phoenix is an energetic youngster who dances around and flings in the air, with exuberant joy, his new soft rope toy, seemingly content with entertaining himself! That is, until another dog appears by his playpen, and hes off with a wagging tail to check out his new friend! Having been surrendered because of family changes, were told Phoenix is house trained, friendly with strangers and children, and playful around other dogs. And while Phoenix is not a fan of cats, he has lived with children. Being energetic and young, he might exhibit a tendency to play tug of war with his leash after his off leash fun - so a bit of remedial training might be in order. But Phoenix seems a youngster eager to learn as he walks well on leash, and knows several commands such as sit, stay and go. So if youre looking for an active youngster that will give you plenty of play time, Phoenix might be your guy.
