កាលពីម្សិលមិញ នាឱកាសដាក់អោយដំណើរការនូវរបាយការណ៍យល់ ដឹងអំពីលំហូរ និងការត្រួតពិនិត្យឈើនៅប្រទេសកម្ពុជាក្នុងបរិបទ នៃកាពង្រឹងការអនុវត្តច្បាប់ព្រៃឈើ អភិបាលកិច្ច និងពាណិជ្ជកម្ម (FLEGT) ឯកអគ្គរដ្ឋទូត Jean-François Cautain មានប្រសាសន៏ថា FLEGT គឺជាចំនុចស្នូលមួយដ៏សំខាន់មួយនៃកិច្ចសហប្រតិបត្តិការរវាង កម្ពុជា និងសហភាពអឺរ៉ុបនាពេលអនាគតដែលមានមាននៅក្នុងកម្មវិធី គ្រប់គ្រងធនធានធម្មជាតិ បានផ្តល់មូលនិធិដោយ សហភាពអឺរ៉ុបលើ។ ជាការពិតណាស់ FLEGT គឺពិតជាវិធីល្អមួយក្នុងចំណោមវិធីជាច្រើន ដើម្បី ប្រមូលផ្តុំការការពារបរិស្ថានជាមួយនឹងកម្លាំងទីផ្សារ។ ដោយហេតុ ថាការកាប់ឈើខុសច្បាប់ ធ្វើអោយហិនហោចព្រៃកម្ពុជាគួរតែអនុវត្ត តាមនូវចលនានៅក្នុងប្រទេសនៅតំបន់អាស៊ីអាគ្នេយ៍ និងចូលរួមក្នុង ដំណើរការកិច្ចព្រមព្រៀងភាពជាដៃគូស្ម័គ្រចិត្តជាមួយសហភាពអឺរ៉ុប។ Yesterday, at the occasion of the launch of the report Understanding timber flows and control in Cambodia in the context of Forestry Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT), Ambassador Cautain announced that FLEGT would be a cornerstone of future Cambodia-EU cooperation in EU-funded Natural Resources Management programmes. FLEGT is indeed one of the best ways to reconcile protection of the environment with market forces. As illegal logging is depleting forests, Cambodia should follow the movement in South-East Asia countries and enter into a Voluntary Partnership Agreement process with the EU.
