本宮像康熙？哈哈哈～～ You are brilliant, progressive, and a great leader, like Emperor Kangxi! Emperor Kangxi was born in 1654 and was the fourth emperor of the Qing dynasty, ruling from 1662-1722. Kangxi’s reign of 61 years makes him the longest-reigning emperor in Chinese history, and one of the longest-reigning rulers in the world. He laid the foundation for a long period of political stability and prosperity in China. Kangxi is considered to be one of Chinas greatest emperors. Under his reign, the Treaty of Nerchinsk was signed with Russia, parts of Outer Mongolia were added to China’s territory, and control was extended over Tibet. Domestically, Kangxi’s reign oversaw public works such as the repairing of the Grand Canal to permit transportation of rice to feed the population, and the dredging and banking of the Yellow River to prevent destructive flooding. Kangxi reduced taxes many times and opened four ports to foreign ships for trade. Even though he was an ardent proponent of Neo-Confucianism, he welcomed Jesuit missionaries, whose accomplishments led him to permit the propagation of Roman Catholicism in China. Amongst his many cultural achievements, he commissioned the Kangxi Dictionary (a compilation of a dictionary of Chinese characters), which was an attempt by Kangxi to gain support from many Han-Chinese scholar-bureaucrats who had refused to serve the Manchu emperor for they remained loyal to the Ming dynasty. In a brilliant move, by persuading the scholars to work on the dictionary without asking them to formally serve the Qing court, Kangxi gradually encouraged them to take on greater responsibilities until they assumed the role of state officials.
