--Lets analyze this move for a second. In theory, the idea behind it is good but my biggest thing is the way these moves are shown is how unrealistic they are in the set up phase. The issue with most knife defense is having the attacker in the Im gonna cut ya pose with his knife. The reality of knife attacks is that you typically do not see the knife before the attack/hold up begins. If it is a hold up sort of attack, they guy is usually going to grab you beforehand. Dont believe me? Watch real knife attack videos and see for yourself The 2 on 1 defense is solid for the most part. One of the issues that you run into during the wrestling phase is that a 2 on 1 can be difficult to control on someone who does not want to be there. I find that many times, the individual will instinctively attach their hand to your head and begin pushing you away to create space. This will give them enough space to snatch that arm out sometimes so you have to move quickly and decisive from there. If it is not the head, it is the shoulder they are shoving at to create that room to get their arm free. Do not mistake the use of their other hand either. I have used this move in MMA training and once you lock someones arm in a 2 on 1; they WILL start trying to hit you in the face with their other hand. There is a reason you do not see this move used in MMA. They will also turn into you and begin kneeing you. These are all things that need to be addressed if you are going to use this move. Is anyone interested in seeing our solution to these sorts of attacks using empty hands?
