- RIP Charlie Haden. His music says far more than I could hope to represent , in words , on his musics behalf . In Jazz some of the he was one of the people who have changed the way the music itself was played or approached, his was a wide-felt influence. He was one of the players who I loved to hear. Why? He was in love with the music , and that , I believe fueled their desires to explore the many paths of what could be ordered through music. The end-result is the music , not the individual. I saw him in Boston as a teenage, at The Jazz Workshop with Ornette and Dewey. Years later with Dewey and Keith Jarrett..and I wont even attempt to put it into mere words. It was one of those things, let us say it was conveying what music *MEANS* when I heard him live or on recordings.Also he was a great example of- Music is a gift from the creator. - If you really cherish the qualities that Mr. Hadens embodies , then allow me to point you to some recorded output as leader and sideman in bottom posts that are favorites of mine. oh yes, there are, of course, many more, but this is purely a * few * of my favorites of Charlie Haden.
