**1 Male Arrested for Theft from Vehicle** On 11th of November 2014 at about 8.00pm, the owner reported to the police that there were tampering marks on his lorry and his cash card was missing. The victim parked his company lorry at the open space carpark beside Buangkok MRT overnight and subsequently found the cash card which was placed in his lorry missing the next morning. Sengkang Crime Strike force swiftly carried out investigations and the suspect was arrested shortly. Anyone convicted of Theft, may face an imprisonment term which may extend to 7 years; and shall also be liable to fine. Police would like to remind vehicle owners to adopt the following crime preventive measures: 1. Park in well-lit areas 2. Install an anti-theft system 3. Use additional locking devices for example disc brake lock for motorcycles; 4. Wind up all windows and close all doors of your vehicle; even if it is left unattended for a short while; 5. Remove the ignition key and lock your vehicle before you leave, even if it is for a short while. Do not leave your ignition key inside the vehicle; 6. Ensure that your vehicle has been secured properly and look around the vicinity for suspicious characters before leaving, if you see any suspicious characters, take note of their appearance, attire, height, or any other distinctive physical features and inform the Police for assistance. Do not confront them.
