....All villages that were attacked had 5-10% and in some cases fewer than 15% Muslim populations. Most of the Muslims who were attacked were poor barring few exceptions. They belonged to teli, faqir, jogi, lohar, julahe, dhobi communities. There were some who were ansaris and quraishis. Many were farm labourers, brick clin workers.
