On June 7, 2013, Shelby County criminal court jury convicted Billy Stewart, former Memphis Animal Shelter employee, of four (4) counts of aggravated animal cruelty and one (1) count of animal cruelty. Billy Stewart’s sentencing date is July 18. We can demand, as tax-paying Memphis citizens, that Judge Skahan hold Mr. Stewart responsible for his heinous acts of animal cruelty and punish him to the fullest extent of the law.
