*** LATE NIGHT RESULTS *** XFS Adrenaline May 17, 2014 Victor Borrayo vs Ron Henderson Rd 1: Short feeling out process. As Borrayo swarms, Ron Henderson hits a walk off ko with a counter right to Borrayos chin. Borrayo protests but it was a good stoppage. Steve Orosco vs Justin Carr Rd 1: Carr shoots for a takedown which gets stuffed by Orosco. Orosco tries to take Carrs back, and as Carr fights it off, Orosco gets full mount. He lands brutal unanswered punches and Carr taps to strikes. Garrick Evans vs Edward Hyman Rd 1: Evans lands a snapping high kick and then goes for the takedown. Hyman gets on top and Evans works his way back to the feet. They exchange and Hyman gets a takedown. They get up and Hyman takes it back to the mat. Evans threatens off of his back with a kimura but he isnt that close. Hyman finishes the round out in control. 10-9 Hyman Rd 2: Hyman hits a big body kick then goes for the takedown. He gets top position and throws big punches to the body. He works from half guard landing punches and elbows. Evans gets back to his feet and has his mouth wide open, looking a little tired. They exchange a little and Evans lands a nice body kick. But damage has been done. 10-9 Hyman Rd 3: Hyman uses kicks to get inside and gets the trip takedown. More of the same GNP from Hyman. Evans tries an Americana but Hyman jumps to side control and breaks the hold. He gets back to half guard and does more of the same. 10-9 Hyman. Judges see it unanimous for Hyman Luiz Bam Bam Morales vs Kenny Wyckoff Rd 1: Bam Bam gets the fight close and scores an immediate takedown. Wyckoff reverses Bam Bam and gets Bam Bam in a deep triangle. After a minute stuck in it Bam Bam just Hulks out and stands up and drops punches to the face of Wyckoff. Bam gets out of the triangle and is still in Hulk mode and swarms and gets a takedown. He gets Wyckoff down and applies the rnc, getting the tap. Fight of the Night for both guys! Nick Ibis vs Roman McRoberts Rd 1: McRoberts tries to shake hands and Ibis doesnt care, he came to fight. He throws a flying knee and a barrage of punches. McRoberts is on his bicycle as Ibis chases him down with strikes. He picks McRoberts over his head and slams him hard. Ibis gets full mount and after 15-20 unanswered shots, McRoberts taps. Jimmy Marquez Mma vs Keenan Lewis Rd 1: Marquez throws a body kick and Lewis catches it and gets a big slam. After jockeying for position Lewis gets full mount and machine guns Marquez face. Marquez scrambles, but Lewis stays with him and takes Marquez back. He sinks in the rnc and forces Marquez to tap. Carlos Solis vs Russ Edwards Rd 1: Good ol fashion brawl! Fists fly and Edwards lands a 2 punch combo that sends Solis spinning backwards. Edwards wont let up and just drops bombs on Solis who eventually gets overwhelmed and taps. Chris Taco vs Julian Hernandez Rd 1: Taco shows no respect for Hernadez hands as he just runs in reckless! He throws hands and knocks Hernandez out cold. Taco continues to impress at only 18 years of age. Alex Higley vs Jordan Delano Rd 1: Higley with the monster cheering section getting really loud. Higley and Delano both come out aggressive. Delano charges and clinches but gets reversed and thrown into the cage. Higley is dictating the pace of the fight with strikes and leg kicks. Delano looks like hell survive the round, when Higley lands a brutal body kick to the liver that turtles Delano. The ref stops the fight and Higley wins by tko. Raja Shippen vs Chris Saucedo Rd 1: Raja comes out like Raja does... KICKING! Raja shows his who repertoire of Muay Thai in this fight as he clinches and throws hard knees and from every angle. Saucedo tries for the takedown but almost eats a flying knee. They wind up on the ground with Raja in side control. He lands heavy knees from there. He takes Saucedos back and gets the rnc. Raja looked great again and Saucedo was super tough. Matt Betzold vs Deondre Gibbs Rd 1: Betzold gets the quick takedown and moves to mount. He tries to finish the fight with punches, but despite landing them he sees a head and arm choke and takes it. He forces Gibbs to tap. Betzold, who is a 1 legged amputee fighter, is ecstatic in his win Nick Barnes vs Jeff Murphy Rd 1: The Phoenix Nick Barnes goes for a high kick and misses and lands on his back and Murphy Jumps on him. Barnes scrambles and gets Murphys back and pounds away for the tko. Ty Freeman vs Josh Gibson Rd 1: Freeman gets the takedown and goes straight to Gibsons back. He quickly gets the rnc and the tap. Anthony Formosa vs Sean Stephenson Rd 1: Formosa didnt care much for the standup in this round so he kept getting takedowns and looking for subs. He almost got the armbar at the end but the round finished. Rd 2: Again, Formosa looks for the takedown and gets it. This time he falls back looking for a heel hook. He adjusts and then hits it forcing the tap from Stephenson. Chris Kirtley vs Daniel Cumpian Rd 1: Another brawl breaks out. Honestly so many punches were thrown it appeared that both guys got dropped. Kirtley gets the takedown and then mount. He pounds away until the ref stops the fight. Martin Davila vs Hunter Silva Rd 1: Davila is smooth. He keeps slipping the Silva haymakers. The last one he slips and takes Silvas back and immediately gets a nasty rnc. Kris Armbrister vs Ed Darby Rd 1: Another missed punch leads to an off balanced rnc. Darby swings wild and does a 180 as Armbrister jumps right on his back in only seconds. Clayton MacFarland vs Demarius McDaniel Rd 1: MacFarland gets a quick takedown and gets full mount. He drops down punches and then goes for the head and arm choke, cutting MacDaniels night short. George Hernandez vs Phelan Fleming Rd 1: Hernandez nabs the immediate takedown. He drops elbows from half guard, as Fleming rolls onto his stomach and Hernandez softens him up with punches before he gets the rnc. Tony Martinez vs Coby ONeal Rd 1: Martinez is making his pro debut here. He was the former XFS amateur lightweight champ. Martinez eats a body kick before getting the takedown and getting right into mount. He throws 30 unanswered elbows and punches and the fight is stopped due to tko. Ricky Pulu vs James Cannon Rd 1: James Cannon gets a monster slam! Gets knee on belly and pours on the punches. The ref calls a stop to the contest and Cannon earns the tko. Tom Gloudeman vs Sergio Rios Rd 1: They go back and forth exchanging hard blows. Its pretty even until Silva connects cleanly. Rios jumps all over Gloudeman trying to work a rnc. Gloudeman is handing tough until Rios gets better positioning and puts Gloudeman to sleep. New XFS 155 champ, Sergio Rios. On a side note, Gloudeman broke his arm somehow.
