“Neo lynching” requires propagandists to unleash the “flaming lynch arrow” from their quiver only when faced with extremely desperate situations. Deployment of this method is intended to be a real and credible threat to victim’s/ targets’ personal lives. “Lynch arrow” victims are intended to join the “walking dead” and become the “zombies” of public life or the political graveyard and irrelevant to the status quo, as their credibility goes up in flames. Targets and tribe members experience fear first hand, in order to drive home the terror that their turn is next. This method is derived from principles of negative campaigning taken from the” locus classicus Goebbels” school of thought, often adapted to inform such Western methods as “Going Nuclear” and other practices of “the politics of fear”. Another school of thought: “counter revolutionary operations” claiming to be Russian/ Cuban adaptations of “Goebbels” theory, was utilised in the Southern Caribbean by regimes which espoused” party paramountcy”.
