"Obama doesn’t seem to realize that the Taliban negotiate by killing people. Obama called the Taliban’s announcement “an important first step toward reconciliation,” but cautioned that it was only “a very early step.” “We anticipate there will be a lot of bumps in the road,” Mr. Obama said. That was yesterday. Today one of those “bumps”, which is how Obama tends to describe murdered Americans, appeared. Sky News reports that the Taliban acknowledged it was behind a rocket attack last night on Bagram Air Base, launched just hours after the US announced it would be holding peace talks with the Islamist group on Thursday. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said: “Last night two big rockets were launched at Bagram which hit the target. Four soldiers are dead and six others are wounded. The rockets caused a major fire. Meanwhile the Afghans are disgusted by Obama’s Taliban appeasement and are breaking off negotiations with him...."
