I was provoked to thoughts when the Hero of the movie 24, Jack Bauer asserted that he was an EXPENDABLE relative to the undercover task he was to be involved with... If the operation was to go south, his life threat shouldnt be a PRIORITY to be rescued. The objective of that undercover MUST be given higher preference. I couldnt buy into that... Jack happens to be one in a million among fedral agents. But that is a Hard TRUTH. The recent sacking of about 16,000 thousand resident doctors by the fedral government is something i think worthy of analysis. According to data available, * The highest pay a medical doctor could receive in the public service is N5million Naira as compared to the Presidency which gets N3billion allocation and Lawmakers N150Billion. * The N3b could cater for about 6,500 medics and N150b for about N29,000 medics. * In view of the expertise... Medics are without doubt more Valuable * In view of hazard exposure, medics are faced with such all the working days of their proffession far more than what the Law givers or the Presidency encounters. * Medics are closer to the people and render tangible services that are measurable on a personal term, compared to the policies setup by the government. In view of this and many more, Medics have a strong stand in Values relative to the Presidency. But guess what??? The MEDICS are the ones who gets fired by the PRESIDENCY. The hundred percent pay rise in hazard allowance they demand which is something of note because they face such everyday. The Presicency, and specifically the PRESIDENT receives more than a doctors annual income as hazard allowance even when he is protected from such. The NMA has a valid argument but when it comes to National issues, even health issues the man who makes the descision is the of more VALUE... And the expert, the one who knows the ins and outs of the job becomes the EXPENDABLE. Thats for National Issues... If LIFE were to make the descision of who Lives and who Dies in light of your input into the world systems... RELIGION, POLITICS, SCIENCE, AGRICULTURE, BUSINESS etc where do YOU stand?
