#ThrowBackThursday to 1822 Happy (almost) #IndependenceDay! So why share a story about England, you ask? In 1822, the seaside town of Hastings had a portion of its population rebel against the Crown, declare their independence, and join the Union as our 24th state. This tiny slip of land comprised of silt, stone, and shanties became known as The America Ground and continues to shape Hastings residents and their rebellious spirit to this day. As Southerners, we can relate. #FourthofJuly #tbt twistedsouth/?p=2359
