Woke up this morning , she says, Honey its time to go, three minutes between the pain, she says with a smile though, the traffic was heavy , on our way, our baby, was born that day. Woke up this morning , its her first day of school, she looks real scared, but she acts real cool, as she waves , the bus takes her away, I still remember that day. In a blink of an eye, life goes by, I well up inside, these tears that I cry, In a blink of an eye. Woke up this morning, she says, honey, well be late, for our babys most important date, the tears welled up, as they do right now, I can still hear their vows. Woke up this morning looking in the mirror right now, wrinkles on my face and white on my brows, wife says honey, youll be alright its just a part of life. In a blink of an eye, life goes by, I well up inside, with these tears that I dry, In a blink of and eye. If I had only known, that this life had gone by this fast, I might have stopped to take a deep breath, in hopes these moments would last. Woke up this morning, shes no longer by my side, its been three long years since she died. We always thought that theyd find a cure, it got the best of her. I woke up this morning, my children are by my side, their children grown up with tears in their eyes, they whisper, Daddy, youve lived a good life, now close your eyes go to the light.
