#YouNeedToKnow, in its Africa statistics on IT threats for the first quarter of 2014, Kaspersky names Algeria as leading in Africa in terms of local and web threats ahead of Egypt, South Africa followed by Kenya at the fourth place. According to the Kaspersky figures, South Africa and Kenya had high number of cyber threats in the first quarter. South Africa, followed by Kenya, saw a significant number of security incidents, though the number of users affected is one of the lowest in the region. And away from the study, and back home in Nigeria, cybercrime remains one of the biggest sources of threats organisations and government face, especially as dependence on computers and smart devices increase cum cashless policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria becomes operational in many more states.
