“ Youth United Against Poverty” Dear Activista, The end of a fruitful 2014 has dawned upon us, as we wrap up with anticipation of an even greater and promising year on the horizon. On behalf of the Country Director and Action Aid Zambia (AAZ), I wish to express my deep gratitude to all the Activista Zambia members from Lusaka General, UNZA, Sesheke, Mbala, Mpulungu, Nakonde, Mpika, UNILUS, Evelyn Hone, NIPA and Mulungushi University for all your immeasurable contributions towards Activista Zambia’s mission to grow the masses in the youth movement for social change in Zambia. What started as an aspiration back in 2008, with only 3 young people, has matured beyond our expectations to reaching over 3,500 young people, not only in Zambia, but also across the globe. Within 12 months, of the year 2014, we grew into the largest and most recognized youth social movement in the country. We never fell short of a globally recognized achievement; be it on the governance campaigns on the Constitution or the national or international Tax power campaigns. As a proud Coordinator, I am deeply indebted to all your individual efforts. We had our own triumphs and trying moments, but nothing could ever be greater than the unity and solidarity which held us firm and resolute. In appreciation of the enthusiasm and responsibility which we have carried with us through every activity, we have been charged with the task of implementing the programs and strategies in the 2015 Activista Zambia Plan of Action with the aim of reaching out to 5,000 young people. My special thanks go to; The Country Director and the AAZ staff for the indispensable support and guidance; our all-weather Inspirator, Godfrey Oyyekoredo, you came at the right time; The National Youth Coordinating Team, what an amazing bunch! My even greater appreciation extends to each individual Activista Member, for all your immeasurable contributions and commitment during the Year 2014. May I also take this opportunity, to welcome all the new members that recently joined Activista Zambia, that you couldn’t have chosen a much vibrant youth movement to be a part of. Happy Holidays (Action Aid Zambia will be closed on 19th December, 2014 till 5th January, 2015)
