...... good morning! Its electioneering season and the gladiators are working hard to win our hearts. Yet, it is becoming increasingly clear that the average Nigerian is not incisive, deliberate and calculating in their decisions. Its been over 50 years since independence and time has shown that with successive governments, it has been a constant decay in leadership. At each regime change, Nigerians have rejoiced and celebrated, hoping that someone would take responsibility for their national failure. Its almost always taken about two and a half years for Nigerians to realize that they made a mistake and by that time, its always been too late. We operate a presidential system based on the constitution stating clearly that this nation is a democracy. Yet, most Nigerians (including my humble self), are ever so willing to flaut the constitution or laws of the land. Our democracy can not survive without absolute submission to the laws of the land, through a willing creayion of a nation from that constitution through efforts to birth a common #language of honesty. We have created a system and are working towards keeping that system, that makes the law that created us, useless. Until we are willing to sit down and pursue why we are failing, we will never get it right. It is instructive to note, that black african nations are naturally governed by a monarchy to which the people are willing to submit themselves, understanding that the kings are chosen by Higher Powers and not by the whims of men, thus the people become responsible to keeping the sanity of that system. Nigerian leaders are by genetics made to seek to become monarchs riding on the back of a failing democracy. Also, ware failing to take the history of the constituent nations within the Nigerian territory into account. We are many nations sharing a common territory. #Yorubas in #Yorubaland speaking #Yoruba #Ijaws in #Ijawland speaking #Izon #Hausas in #Hausaland speaking #Hausa #Igbos in #Igboland speaking #Igbo Just like, #Germans in #Germany speaking #German The #Englishman in #England speaking #English #Japanese in #Japan speaking #Japanese #Portuguese in #Portugal speaking #Portuguese The #French in #France speaking #French #Spaniards in #Spain speaking #Spanish I ask a question, Who is a #Nigerian if there is no nation (defined by common language, culture, tradition, customs and belief) called #Nigeria, no language called #Nigerian but just a territory named by thw whims of a lady probably savouring the conquered region of her lover? We must redefine who we are, so that we can move forward.
