... podcast about his life-long adventure of seeking the church whose builder and architect is Jesus. How does love shape us to live differently in his family? How does it allow us to honor relationships beyond our disagreements and by doing so reflect the glory of his kingdom in the world? Dan’s a prolific author, former pastor, and passionate to equip others to know him. In their conversation they talk about the challenges of parenting a prodigal child, the power of submission as God sees it, and the challenges of living inside and outside the box of institutionalism... Good stuff ... when ever there is an income to support (staff).. or a building .. most official churches look and act more like McDonalds franchises than what we see in the 1st century gatherings that occured on the 1st workday of the week, in the marketplace and in homes multiple times / week... extended families who love each other on their journiey .. but with the mix of money and power in even very small official churches (licensed by the US govt for 501C3 status).. it (money, politics, building use, etc) becomes a distraction to loving others well on their journey with Father. Butterfly and a Stone (book) .. where Dans son who served in Iraq has been on a prodigal journey became a published book ... how a fathers love for his kids can relate to Fathers love of each of us. The book is not the typical in the end the son comes home but more it is still in progress even a 1/2 a decade later... how the rightous US war in Iraq has injured and scared so many young people to the point where they even doubt Gods love at all .. or even His existance.
