020 LAMIDO, KWANKWASO, NINE OTHER GOVERNORS MISSING AT PDP GOVERNORS FORUM. 26 July, 2013 Liberty Radio Kaduna. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors’ Forum meeting, which was held in Abuja, had about eleven governors conspicuously missing. The meeting, which was called by chairman of the Forum and governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Godswill Akpabio, did not commence until five hours later than the scheduled time. Speaking with newsmen shortly after the end of the meeting, Akpabio said the poor attendance was due to a short notice given to the governors, as the meeting was an emergency session. Those missing at meeting were the five northern states governors, who have vowed not to recognize the emergence of the Forum which they see as an attempt by the presidency and leadership of the PDP, to break the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) under the leadership of Rotimi Amaechi. They are: Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano state, Sule Lamido of Jigawa state, Murtala Nyako of Adamawa state, Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto state, and Babangida Aliyu of Niger state. The meeting had nine governors in attendance.
