GD Constable: UR – 1, BL – 2, MBC – 2, OBC – 2 and ST – 1 Constable Driver: UR – 1 and ST – 1 The sportsperson should be the holder of a medal in any discipline of national games recognized by Indian Olympic Association. The Artisan of Excellence should be the receiver of award from the President of India. RESERVATION FOR EX-SERVICEMEN - Out of the above posts reserved for different categories allotted to GD Constables, Constables (Technical) and Constable Drivers the following posts will be reserved for ESM. GD Constable: UR – 3, BL – 3, MBC – 2, OBC – 2, ST – 2 and SC -3 Constable Driver: BL – 1, MBC – 1 and OBC - 1 2 In case of unavailability of sufficient number of women candidates for the posts reserved for them, the same will be filled up by men candidates belonging to the same reserved category. Similarly, in case HG candidates fulfilling the required standards are not available the posts will be filled up by open candidates. Suitable candidates for the post of followers of various trades will be selected on the basis of OPEN MERIT. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS (for GD Constable): EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION – Minimum class X passed from recognized Board for open candidates and class VIII passed from recognized Board for HG candidates who were enrolled before 4.9.2012 and class X who were enrolled after 4.9.2012. AGE – Not less than 18 years and not more than 22 years as on 1st March, 2014. AGE RELAXATION: In addition to the age prescribed above the candidates will be given relaxation of 5 yrs. for BL/ST/SC, 4 yrs. for MBC and 3 yrs. for OBC. Upper age limit for HG candidates are 32 yrs. for BL/ST/SC, 31 yrs. for MBC and 30 yrs. for OBC. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS – (a) Height - 5’3’’ minimum for male - 5’ min. for female (b) Chest - 32” min. with min. 2” expansion for male. (c) Weight - 50 Kgs. min. for male - 45 Kgs. min. for female HG Candidates – (a) Should have enrolled not later than 1st March, 2011. (b) Should be in possession of an enrolment or discharge certificate issued by Dy. Commandant General, Home Guards. (c) Should not have been charged for offence (s) and punishment listed under 15 (2) of the Sikkim Home Guards Rules, 1993. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS (FOR CONSTABLE DRIVERS) : DRIVING LICENSE - Candidates must have an effective TRANSPORT (T) LICENCE. AGE – Not less than 20 years and not more than 25 years as on 1st March, 2014. SKILL TEST – There will be a skill test on driving of LMV, MV and HV. The Educational Qualification, Physical Requirements and Age Relaxation are the same as required for GD Constable above. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS (FOR FOLLOWERS): The vacancies of followers are available in the trade of safaikarmachari, cook and dhobi. EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION – Minimum class VI passed. SKILL TEST - Candidates will be tested for the trade applied for in the skill test. 3 The Physical Requirements, Age and Age Relaxation are the same as required for GD Constable above. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS (FOR Constables/Technical): EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION – Minimum class XII passed in PCM. The Physical Requirements, Age and Age Relaxation are the same as required for GD Constable above. EX-SERVICEMEN CANDIDATES shall be allowed to deduct the period of service rendered in Armed Forces from his actual age subject to his service (continuous) rendered in Armed Forces of the Indian Union is not less than 6 months and that he was not discharged or dismissed from the service on account of misconduct or inefficiency and is not a deserter. The candidates fulfilling the above criteria and possessing the following documents may apply. However, no photocopies of the following documents except NOC at Sl. No. (f) below are required to be submitted at the time of application. All relevant documents in original will be scrutinized at the time of appointment. Any candidate filing false information on the application form shall be disqualified even if he/she is otherwise eligible for appointment. The candidates must fill in application form with his/her own handwriting and affix his/her signature. Candidates may apply for more than one post and give their order of preference for the post. Final selection will be done on the basis of merit and post applied for. A candidate should get registered from one centre only. Multiple registrations will be detected by the computer system and, if found, the candidature will be cancelled forthwith. PHYSICAL TEST – DATES & VENUES: Physical Measurement & PET shall be held at the following places. The police bus ferry service will be made available for the candidates for Gangtok from Police Headquarters and for Pipaley from Jorethang PS. 4 Mangan (Namphrikdang Ground, Upper Dzongu) –2nd April, 2014 from 8 am. Pipelay (IRB Camp) –4 th and 5th April, 2014 from 8 am daily. Gangtok (Khel Gaon, Reshithang) – 9 th , 10th and 11th April, 2014 from 8 am daily. WRITTEN TEST: Candidates who qualify in the physical measurement and PET shall be called for the written test which will be announced/notified seperately.
