1. National Disaster Response Force has rescued 50,629 people from flood affected areas of Srinagar up till now. 2 .The four mobile medical units, which had been opened on 14.9.14 by NDRF in Srinagar, have treated 6,216 patients till now. In continuation of the post disaster airlifting of food, today i.e 16.9.14, 25 MT milk powder was airlifted. 24 more RO Systems with 4 to 5 lakh litres / day capacity have been airlifted to Srinagar today i.e 16.9.14 and with their commissioning another 5 lakh litres per day will be added to the existing 6 lakh litres of potable water. To drain out stagnant water from logging areas, 2 Heavy duty pumps with a total capacity of 18,000 litres / minute have been made operational. Another 4 Heavy duty water draining pumps with total capacity of 16700 litres / min have reached Srinagar yesterday and are being made operational. 3. To provide relief to the flood ravaged J&K, up till now 12.6 lakh food packets, three lakh biscuit packets, 392.13 tonnes ready to eat food, namkeen, bread etcetera have been airlifted. Besides this 30 MTs milk powder, 7000 litres milk and 11.27 lakh water bottles and sachets have been airlifted too. In addition, 2000 tents, 82,240 blankets, 500 Mobile chargers, 3450 solar lanterns and 1000 kitchen sets have been sent for distribution to the valley. 4. NDMA has sought the assistance of corporate sector for tents, blankets and medicines which will be required in large quantity once water starts receding post draining out of the flood waters. .
