SpiffyD 2 years ago from The Caribbean Its always difficult to pick a top-ten list of cricketers of all time. I think that Garry Sobers and Jacques Kallis top this list because they are well-rounded cricketers. Sobers could bowl medium pace and well as left-arm spin. Steve Waugh could bowl a bit and was an astute captain and leader. Im not sure what Ian Botham is doing in there, since Sir Richard Hadlee was a far better cricketer than he ever was. Other than the Ian Botham aberration, this list was not as contentious as some of those produced by panels of cricket experts. Syed Moazzem Hossain, Khulna, Bangladesh 2 years ago The list of TOP TEN CRICKETERS OF ALL TIME is highly biased n injudiciously selected showing Sir Garry Sobers at No.6 and not having legends like Sunil Gavaskar, Imran Khan, Dennis Lillie, George Headley, Graeme Pollock etc. It is very much deplorable to see the names of Steve Waugh, Sir Ian Botham n Jack Kallis ahead of the aforesaid players. Stats n figures alone do not make players top or great but quality of the player should be the prime factor. Bin 2 years ago If Sachin is god then he might have score six in every ball. He might have playied not out in every innings. India have jst won 30%? of test and 46%of ODI in his presence........Hats off Don He was in? list of top 10 sport person of 20th century. Sachine will be more famous if he got chance to wash Dons Toilet........And dont forget cricket is popular coz of Don. It was close to extension in early 20th centuary. man 2 years ago where is virender sehwag and adam gilchrist King 2 years ago call don back and say to him to hit six on every ball and tell him to be not out in every inning then compare him to sachin. Tony 2 years ago Totaly disagree sachin should be first and Sehwag should be in that list too as well as Dravid. krupal 2 years ago wtf!! if steve waugh can make it to the list then why cant dravid or sehwag? even in australian squad i would say a gilcrist or a mcgrath are better than steve waugh! Hammond Murali does not get in as he is and always will be a chucker, (which is why he is not rated by any of the modern greats). Apologies to Imran, McGrath and all those West Indian demon bowlers like Holding, Marshall, Roberts, Walsh and Garner. People may question Kallis, but check his statistics. Enough said. agate 22 months ago Whats wrong with indians. Sachin is a great player but he isnt better than Don. Plus he cannot be God. If he was, he would hav got his 100th century when he was wearing his dipers. So be logical Indians. Just dont ask 4 a players inclusion based on stats. 2nd point. Dravid is a great player, n he is one of my favourite, but considering the fact that d list is only 4 top 10, he cannot be accommodated. 3rd Point - Those who are calling for Shevags inclusion are people who know very little about cricket and its class. Just because he is Indian and sometimes hits a few extra run doesnt mean he is great. Hiting 219 against a weak team is not an achievement. Saeed Anwar hit 194 against India n Sachin hit his 200 against Aus/ Sri Lanka. Thats an achievement. I knw u guys want stop calling 4 his inclusion. But 4 me who ever does call him a great player are still disillusioned. 4th Point. Atleast 1 pakistani player should hav been include in d list. (im not pakistani) but because they hav achieved some great feats in cricket. For me that person would be Imran Khan. Thats all I have 2 say. Does the little hiatus of,WWII ring a bell? That sliced about eight years off his Bradmans career when he played virtually no cricket. In his first Test after the war, he scored 173. In the next, he scored a double hundred. His career average is higher than when he played his last Test before the war. Between 1946-48, he scored two double centuries, seven centuries and five 50s in 23 innings. You really think that either Sachin or Ricky or in fact any cricket alive or dead could do that after 8 full years out of the game? Bradman was the best, no doubt. The record shows that, far from suffering worse stats had he played 100 Tests, his scoring feats would have been greater, and he would have set a run record theyd still be trying to catch. zeeshan ahmed 20 months ago test cricketer sachin odi cricketer wasim t20 cricketer gayle Tinju KODUNGALLUR 20 months ago bradmans stats should be adjusted to modern competitive cricket. dhyanchand scored goals like runs in cricket sydney barns bowling figures - super human bradman stats - super human hobbs - 7 centuries after 40yrs age w.g.grace - leading cricketer at 50+ age all these things coluld be happen only in amature era if bradman best bat, why not barnes best bowler? bradman himself once said , there were many other batsmen who could score like him if they concentrated more . that means a gavskar or sachin in that era easily would have make a bradman.
