11 September 2014 STATEMENT OF THE ANC ON THE NWC VISIT. After the overwhelming victory the African National Congress received in the Northern Cape with the 07 May 2014 elections; we are once-again privileged to be visited by the highest level of the leadership of the ANC as a province. The National Working Committee of the ANC will be visiting the Northern Cape over the coming weekend of the 13th September 14. This visit takes place in the same week when the ANCYL is celebrating its 70th anniversary and we celebrate the 37th anniversary of the brutal murder of Steve Biko. This should remind all our cadres and supporters never to compromise or sell-out this hard-won democracy and freedom, and to continue to defend our revolutionary gains. The purpose of the visit is to assess the state of the organisation in the province and to reflect on the challenges facing the organisation in the province. This visit is also significant in the sense that it is taking place when the ANC is engaged in the “Imvuselelo (Revival) Campaign, focusing on massive membership recruitment and intensive branch activism. The visit is led by some of the Top 6 Officials of the ANC, namely; Cdes Gwede Mantashe, Baleka Mbete, Jessie Duarte and Zweli Mkhize amongst others. The NWC will be joined by the provincial leadership of the ANC and all the structures of the organisation including its Leagues and all ANC Councillors. We are making a clarion call to all members of the ANC to join the meetings that will be taking place in their respective regions and branches. Issued by the African National Congress Zamani Saul – Provincial Secretary of the ANC –
