1402-0250 Maacos Web Page This 9 year old guy is one of my favorites. Hes not one that jumped out at me because of his good looks (although his old man face does give my heart some extra flutters) or because of his wonderful behavior (he was barking and acting all ridiculous in his kennel when we first met) but more because I saw something in his eyes that resembled something that I had seen once before in an old boy that went on to steal hearts all over facebook. I think this guy has that ability too. I sat in front of his kennel and noticed that he had a notation on his cage card saying he growled at someone. I figured he was behind the kennel bars and even if he growled at me, it wouldnt hurt anything (except my heart). So I sat. We just took a minute to build trust in each other. Him sitting on the inside & me on the outside. Then something totally unexpected happened. He leaned his old man body up against the bars and asked me to touch him. He wanted to feel human touch. He didnt want to be looked at like a caged animal. He wanted warmth, he missed feeling the love of a person. So I loved him right then and there. He went outside with me and went potty immediately. I feel its safe to assume hes house trained. He knew his commands. At one point in his life I could imagine he had a family that loved him and maybe even a kid of his own that took the time to play with him and teach him all the things he still remembered. He is just an old man, alone in a shelter. I dont know how he is with other dogs. I do know he was non reactive when I took him down the row of dogs to get to the door. I do know he loves people. He showed me his old man belly and enjoyed every hug I gave him.
