Details: Early Warning Network: ewn.au NT Severe Thunderstorm Warning: Damaging Winds for the Gregory, Barkly, Simpson and Tanami forecast districts Issued at 6:49 pm CST on Friday 5 December 2014. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FORECAST IN CENTRAL DISTRICTS OVER THE NEXT FEW HOURS. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce DAMAGING WINDS in parts of the Barkly, Tanami, south west Gregory and northern Simpson forecast districts. Locations that may be affected include Tennant Creek, Ali Curung, Alpurrurulam, Ampilatwatja, Avon Downs, Brunette Downs, Cresswell Downs, Lajamanu and Rabbit Flat. The Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the Lasseter forecast district has been cancelled, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further alerts will be issued if necessary. A gust of 87 km/h was recorded at Alice Springs Airport at 2:13pm CST. The Northern Territory Emergency Service advises that people should: Secure loose outside objects.
