1891- Annie Moore & her younger brothers, Philip and Anthony boarded the SS Nevada in County Cork bound for New York. The children wept at leaving home but it was their only hope. Upon arrival, Annie was given a ten dollar goldpiece for being the first immigrant to set foot on newly opened Ellis Island. 17 Million people after the Moores were to enter the U.S. there.
