2013 Tsinghua Summit Panel Discussion speaker - Larry Chang (張子初 副總 NE HsinChu) Larry Chang is the Vice President of Engineering in the High End Routing and Optical Group at Cisco Systems, co-leading and responsible for the overall engineering development of Cisco high end routing and optical platforms used by Telcos and Internet service providers. Larry joined Cisco Systems in 1996. He contributed to various market leading router products. In 1999, Larry was the Software Development Manager in charge of all WAN interfaces on the Cisco 7200 and 7500 platform. Later Larry was the Director of Engineering responsible for the software development on the Cisco 7600 platform and pioneered the Carrier Ethernet technology on Internet edge routers. In 2006, Larry set out to build a next gen edge platform, led the ASR9000 development from its inception and grew it into a multi-billion dollar business. Before Larry’s career at Cisco, he had worked at Ericsson and Symmetricom. Larry holds a bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from Tsinghua University, Taiwan and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Maryland, College Park, USA.
