2013 Wisconsin Badgers week 3 Preview: For the Badgers the time - TopicsExpress

2013 Wisconsin Badgers week 3 Preview: For the Badgers the time for play is over and the time for real competition begins when the 20th ranked Wisconsin Badgers( 2-0 ) take on the Arizona State Sun Devils( 1-0 ) tonight from Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe,AZ. It will be the first real test for the Badgers offensive as they will have to deal with an outstanding Sun Devils defense led by All – American DT Will Sutton, the Badgers will need to contain Sutton and the rest of the Sun Devil defensive line if they have any shot at sustaining a running game that has had 3 100 yard rushers in back to back games. For Badgers QB #2 Joel Stave it will be his first night under the lights this season and will need to have a turnover free game to help the Badgers win tonight’s game. As far as the running game goes the 3 headed rushing attack of #25 Gordon III, #20 White and #6 Clement probably won’t all rush over 100+ yards in tonight’s game but they will have to produce well enough to keep the Sun Devil defense guess run or pass throughout the game tonight getting key first downs and breaking running plays wide open down the field. With the Badgers receiving core injury free they will have to help Stave by getting open early and often for big plays that could result in key first downs or possibly a touchdown. WR #4 Abbredaris will need to be the leader tonight at the receiver position as he will need his break away speed to get in front of the Sun Devil secondary for big catches down field. Also the TE’s of #48 Pederson and #49 Arneson will also need to find ways to get open in short yardage plays especially on 3rd down and inside the red zone. On the other side of the ball the Badgers defense will be facing a very good Sun Devil offense led by QB #10 Taylor Kelly who passed for 300 yards against Sacramento State last weekend the Badgers D will also need to keep their eyes on the Sun Devils outstanding RB #1 Marion Grace who only ended up rushing for 59 yards last weekend. If the Badgers want to contain the Sun Devils offense they will need to rely on their tough defensive line by Seniors #96 Pat Muldoon, #96 Beau Allen and #87 Ethan Hemer also they will be led by a pair of Senior LB’s in #36 Ethan Armstrong and #44 Chris Borland and in the secondary they will be led by Senior S #12 Dezmen Southward if the Badgers defense can force key turnover at opportune times the will give the Badgers a great chance at winning tonight’s game. Game start time is set for 9:30pm CT on ESPN game time temp at least 95 degrees or warmer at kickoff tonight. On Wisconsin! and Go Badgers!
