2014 : A NYCDOE Teacher’s Odyssey. I’m Jeff Storobinsky and I - TopicsExpress

2014 : A NYCDOE Teacher’s Odyssey. I’m Jeff Storobinsky and I proudly approved this message. This is Narrative # 6 For those of you having difficulty finding narratives 1 through 5 which are spread out between June and August, let me know and I will repost them. This will not be a War and Peace narrative but will bring you up to date. Brief synopsis: For those of you who do not know who I am, I am a former NYCDOE teacher, who after 30 years faced a most horrible exit from his former school. I was literally kicked out of the place that I called home; first as a student from 1970-73 and then as a teacher from 1984-2014. Even with a 30 year pristine record I was forced out. To add insult to injury, I was given a parting gift of an “Unsatisfactory” in June though I retired in February and my last physical day there was in December, 2013. This “U” made it impossible for me to be hired part time by any school in the NYCDOE. In August, as you recall I posted that I filed papers naming the interim acting principal at my former school in a complaint that my civil rights were violated in multiple ways. My complaint is based on discrimination by age, race and physical handicap. The current Interim Acting Principal is 33 years of age, I am 55. I will now tell you what is going on, what the scenarios are and where this is heading. Most likely there will be more narratives until all matters are settled. I await the DOE’s legal response to the complaint I have filed. This, no doubt will point me in the direction I need to go. My evidence, audio, email, voice recordings have not been addressed yet in this complaint. It may well not be addressed or have to be addressed just yet. It goes like this : If the decision is not to my liking then almost immediately (within 2 weeks) I, together with the interim acting principal will be in Federal Court, Eastern District, before a federal judge. Why Federal Court? Well, the Federal courts take violations of civil rights more seriously than other courts do. Look at famous cases of civil rights abuse; it always winds up in the Federal courts. In Federal court is where the “discovery” will begin. Discovery is the laying out of artifacts that lay the foundation for your case. For want of a better term, your evidence. This is an expensive proposition and a road many educators choose not to take. To the furthest extent of the law and with all the energy I have or will need to summon up, and no matter what the price tag, I shall continue. One cannot put a price tag on your legacy, your career and your name. Succeed or not, there is no going back. I ask for your prayers and your best wishes as I go forward. Please feel free to like, comment and share so that others might be inspired too. Sincerely, Jeff
