The goal of this panel is to provide a treasure trove of well-earned advice for actors from superstar industry professionals, as well as stories and anecdotes from the shorts films and web series that were nominated. PANELIST BIOS Kerry Barden, nominated forDallas Buyers Club and Short Term 12 A native of Atlanta, Kerry majored in theatre at the University Of Georgia and has cast over 200 films, including, most notably Boys Don’t Cry, American Psycho, The House of Mirth, Bad Boys 2, Pineapple Express and four films for director John Waters. As a producer, his credits include the award-winning Conversations with Other Women, starring Aaron Eckhart and Helena Bonham Carter, and the musical Temptation, starring Zoe Saldana and Michael Cerveris. Kerry divides his time between Barden / Schnee’s Los Angeles and New York offices. Rich Delia, nominated forDallas Buyers Club and Short Term 12 Bio Coming Soon Angela Demo, nominated for The Spectacular Now and Two Night Stand Bio Coming Soon Richard Hicks, nominated for Camp X-Ray Richard is an Emmy winner for the casting of HBO’s ‘Game Change’ (with David Rubin). A three-time winner of the Casting Society of Americas “Artios” award for Outstanding Casting, he’s been nominated 21 times. Richard’s a BAFTA member, and is the current CSA president. Films include ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ (Kathryn Bigelow, dir.), ‘On The Road’ (Walter Salles, dir.), Lars And The Real Girl, ‘Hairspray’, ‘Igby Goes Down’, Christopher Guest’s For Your Consideration and A Mighty Wind, and Ken Loachs Bread & Roses. Upcoming films include: ‘Camp X-Ray’ with Kristen Stewart and ‘Shiva & May’. Television: Richard’s a three-time Emmy nominee, for the HBO films ‘Recount’ and ‘Temple Grandin’ along with the series ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’. Additional work for television includes ‘The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency’ (Anthony Minghella, dir.), ‘The L Word’ pilot and ‘Further Tales of the City’, among others. Upcoming television work includes ‘Bonnie & Clyde’, a miniseries for The History Channel. Howard Meltzer, nominated for Lonely Boy Howard has been casting in Los Angeles since 2002. Feature films: Lonely Boy, The Impossible (USA Casting). Television: Wizards of Waverly Place – Reunion Special, Lab Rats, Shake It Up, Hannah Montana, I’m in the Band. Broadway productions of The Graduate, Fortune’s Fool, Gore Vidal’s The Best Man, Elaine May’s Taller Than a Dwarf, Honour, Epic Proportions, Annie Get Your Gun (revival), Fosse, Chicago (revival), Annie (revival), and Grease (revival). Meltzer has been nominated for 15 Artios Awards for excellence in casting, sharing the honor twice for the television series Hannah Montana. Moderator - Lindsey Weissmueller, casting associate & director Lindsey has worked with Casting Director Nancy Nayor for 5 years, most recently wrapping as an associate on a CW series, THE MESSENGERS, which premieres April 10th. She also served as an associate on THE BOY NEXT DOOR starring Jennifer Lopez coming out in theaters later this month and the Blumhouse/Universal thriller OUIJA, which was number one at the box office last Halloween.
