2014 Second Annual All Women Artists Group Exhibition “Oneira: I Dream the Self” The Studio C Gallery is proud to announce our second annual All Women Group Show at the Santa Fe Art Colony in May 2014. We are committed to emphasizing women artists, especially those that reside in the Los Angeles area. We feel that it is important to highlight emerging women artists, who are frequently overlooked. We feel that there is a surge of exceptionally talented women artists throughout this city that are not being seen. Studio C Gallery wants to help alleviate that. We hope to educate the public and provide a space for women artists to show their work. Our first show, “The Disciplines: An Interpretation of the Figure by 7 Women Artists”, was very well received. So much so, that we want to do it again! This year we are looking for women artists, whose work reflects their dreams. The title of this show is Oneira: I Dream the Self. Most women are natural dreamers. The mystery of dreams has been a fascination since the beginning of humankind. It is a place where we explore the depth of the soul. Fragments of that mysterious world ventures back with us every morning, still illusive, unattainable until we put into a tangible form. With this exhibition, we would like to explore the feminine interpretation of dreams. This exhibit has no predetermined expectation for type, style or media of work to be considered or selected. Submissions can range from the most traditional to the most conceptual or experimental. The only criteria is that the work interprets the theme of the show, dreams. All mediums are accepted, including video and installation. Eligibility: Oneira, I Dream the Self is open to all women artists in the Los Angeles area and beyond. Professionals as well as students are encouraged to enter. All entries must represent original works of art. Jury and Curator All entries are juried by a committee of women artists and art professionals. Media: Open to all traditional and non-traditional genre and media, including video and installation. A note about this exhibition. Oneira: I Dream the Self exhibition will also coincide with the Annual Santa Fe Art Colony Open Studio Event on May 17th & May 18th. Opening reception for the artists will occur on the evening of May 17th from 6 pm to 9 pm and will continue on May 18th from noon to 6 pm. The SFAC Open Studio is an established, well-attended event. Calendar Jan. 31st 2014 Deadline for receipt of entries Feb. 8th Notification sent to entrants by email within this week. May 10th & May 11th Artwork due to Studio C Gallery by this date. Drop off is from 10 am to 6 pm May 17th Opening reception June 13th Final day of exhibition June 14th & 15th Pick-up hand delivered work June 16th Schedule shipped artwork for pickup (arranged by artist) Deadline for entry: Jan. 31st 2014 Please email images ( preferably 300 dpi jpegs ) to studiocla148@gmail The email should include artist’s full name as subject along with “Oneira submission”. Please include with your submission image. Name of Artist: Title: Medium: Dimensions: Price: Address of Artist: A note on submitting Video, Motion, and interactive entries or details. Studio C Gallery requests that all video or interactive submissions or video details illustrating an entry, be in form of a link to a viewable online copy of each work. The work should be shown online in it’s full length. There is no entry fee. Please limit 1 to 4 images per artist. It is perfectly fine to send detail images in addition, if necessary. If accepted, there will be a small participation fee. Shipping to and from the gallery is the responsibility of the artist. All artwork is insured for 2 days, the days of the event. After May 18th, the gallery is not open to the public, except by private invitation. Studio C Gallery takes no commission. All sales go directly to the artist.
