2014 may well go down in Clay County as the year of vicious dirty mean campaigns. The August primary election voters witnessed Katee Porter attack me with untruths and lies. This Tuesday voters have the opportunity to say enough is enough to character attacks. Let candidates like Nolte understand you want to hear about issues that effect everyday life not personal vendettas. Jay Swearingen has conducted a clean above board campaign, served in the military, well respected as a State Representative and deserves your vote. Nolte on the other hand has lashed out against Swearingen and he is now lying and attacking Swearingen supporters. Practically unheard of in campaigns. His latest campaign mailer calls me a RINO (Republican in Name Only). Jerry has forgotten his roots. He has sold himself to the power elite in our county. He has forgotten that most candidates need voters from both parties. He fails to mention that Craig and Katee Porter are RINOs. They have supported many democrats but they were not attacked, why Jerry? Be glad that voters are independent thinkers and not sheep being lead to slaughter because of party affiliation. Most voters think for themselves. Independent thinking is not a bad thing Jerry. Why would you respond by calling these people names? RINO...DINO.tacky for someone wanting to lead this county forward. Sometimes there are candidates from both parties that just dont deserve to be elected. In my opinion Nolte is that person in this election. Many republicans currently support democrats in thisTuesdays election but Jerry you picked me to attack. Mr. Nolte let me remind you that you are running against the other Jay.. Jay Swearingen. My message to voters is simply to vote wisely next Tuesday. Your vote may be the most critical vote you have made in some time in our county. Tuesday you are not voting for a party but you and your familys quality of life. You will vote for the power brokers to run our county or for hard working men and women to control our quality of life. A vote for Swearingen is a vote for hard working people.
