2015:PDP Can Win Without Rigging, if....Okowa The Delta State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stands a lot of opportunity to win 2015 guber elections without rigging. The above were the central theme of Senator Ifeanyi Okowas speech to Oshimili South party Chieftains, Elders, Chairmen, youth & women leaders at the Asaba party secretariate. The erudite Senator while addressing his audience yesterday, emphasized that Delta State is a great state blessed with great past leaders and governors. Senator Okowa was of the view that past leaders and governors of this state had laid wonderful foundations and cpnsolidated firm democratic party culture and ideals that is second to none in this nation. Gov. James Ibori was a great leader, he laid the foundation of what we enjoy now in the state today. We are blessed today with another great leader in the person of Gov. Uduaghan, he has consolidated on the foundation of his predecessors with pro people programs and initatives. Delta State cant afford to play games with who succeed these great governors, Senator Okowa highlighted. As a state and as people, we need a successor who understands the working parterns of the party, the place of its elders and leaders, the worth of the traditional institution, as well as the vital roles our youth and women play in our polity, Senator Okowa pointed out. The choice of who becomes the partys guber flag bearer will to a large extent determine whether as a party, we will win the polls easily without rigging. All the party need do is to field a canidiate that has real grassroot acceptance and can easily relate with the people, such canidiate can lead the party to great victory at the polls without rigging, Senator Okowa said. The senator also ceased the occassion to appeal to party elders and leaders present to have him be the partys flag bearer. Under my tenure, as Deltans, we will continue to live as one people and develop our state in the spirit of unity. We will develop the state on the basis of peace, equity and fairness. I am confident that we will go to the primaries and the gurber polls with victory, Senator Okowa said. We will create more jobs for our youths, sustain schemes that will support our farmers produce more food, create more industrial parks and help more youth stand independently as entrepreneurs, who can be assisted to access loans and grants to grow their business empire. Who said our young persons cant do contracts, all we need do will be to supervise their activities and work on changing their mindset and mentality to help them avoid resource wasteage.
