3rd chakra - Manipura Chakra - SUN IN BODY In Sanskrit, this chakra is referred to as “Manipura”. It is the one that’s responsible for helping energy flow throughout the body. Apart from this, it also controls the willpower and character strength. It happens to be one of the most critical or important chakras in your body-“Belly Brain”. Manipur Chakra known as Tejas Kendra (the Centre of Bio-Electricity) in Preksha Dhyana. IT IS A SUN IN THE BODY. fire element. The physiological term for it is ‘adrenal glands’. It is said to be the centre which produces vital power. According to the physiologists, the adrenal glands are responsible for the transmission of energy. In certain special situations, these glands make typical secretions which result in an unthought-of increase in power. Meditation on Tejas Kendra, the Centre of Bio-Electricity, develops the vital power. From the point of sadhana, this centre is the principle source of making available abundant bio-electricity. Bio-electricity is the energy which a sadhak needs most.A man without energy is incapable of doing advanced exercises in the field of sadhana, nor can he succeed in them. Ordinarily, bio-electricity is to be found in the whole of the body, still there are certain principle centres, among which the rear part of the navel is important. Energy develops through meditation on this portion and this energy could be utilised in awakening the remaining psychic centres. When the Manipura Chakra is blocked it can cause gastric ulcers, diabetes, and/or hypoglycemia, problems in the adrenals, nerve tissue, skin disorders, liver, spleen, pancreas and kidneys, arthritis, hiatus hernia, anorexia, body pH, and menopausal flushing, and eating disorders. It can also cause hyper-acidity, chronic tiredness. It affects the function of endocrine glands like- the pancreas and adrenal cortex (outer), which play vital roles in our digestion and how our bodies convert food into energy for our physical strength and stamina. Activation of the Manipura Chakra frees one from negative energies and purifies and strengthens one’s vitality. People with a strong 3rd Chakra have such characteristics as inner strength, a purpose in life, a career, and self-confidence as a result., speed up all the physiological processes. It makes the mind sharp and alert, heart beat faster, respiration rate more rapid, remove sluggishness and depression or malfunctions of the digestive system such as diabetes and indigestion, helps in proper functioning of gastric glands, adrenal glands above the kidneys, pancreas, gall bladder and above all provides ambition, will and the ability to rule and is the centre for self assertion, dynamism and dominance. A healthy, spirited third chakra supports us in overcoming inertia, jump-starting our “get-up-and-go” attitude so that we can take risks, assert our will, and assume responsibility for our life. This chakra is also the place of our deep belly laughter, warmth, ease, and the vitality we receive from performing selfless service.
