This current acting was laced with publicity stunts, for several strategic reasons. At the political chessboard, the magic wand in the public pronouncements, was to tight-lock the virgin rift-valley vote block for 2017,by creating a perception of our man is in charge. This has been swallowed pretty well by the DP home tuff. On the ICC front, the stunt was to persuade the judges that President Kenyatta is not the absolute bearer of the magic words..open sesame..close sasame on the key information sought by the OTP. This became more mandatory given the perception by the PEV lawyers that President Kenyatta can easily preside over destruction of crucial evidence as demonstrated by his personal presence at the destruction of multi billion drug haul in Mombasa. This move was also to save him from directly answering accusations of Kenyas on cooperation with the lCC during the status conference. At the OAU big brother level, Mr. UK didnt wish to betray the call that no sitting head of state should be docked at the lCC. So hell argue in future OAU summits that he docked at lCC as an ordinary civilian...not as president. To the Kenyas investor, through the public-private sector brotherhood alliance, Mr. UKs move is a corporate governance initiative to dissociate the person from the office. And thats why the group seeing him off at the JKA was ably represented by the outgoing KQ CEO, Titus Naikunyi. To the Kenyan youth,the move is designef to tell the youth the the jubilee adminostration recognizes giving job opportunities to gain experience on-job. So the DPs 48 hours experience as President is a strategic achievement in his CV.Most fresh graduates are often locked out of jobs for lack of experience. The lack-of-experience problm with fresh graduates comes from short-sightedness on both their sides and that of the prospective employer. Experience comes from daily occurrences right from time of birth. Only that most people cannot put those experiences in logical context for selling in the job market.
