50 years ago today, President Kennedy was assassinated. At the time, I lived about 20 minutes outside of Washington D.C. And was attending high school when classes were suddenly interrupted by the PA system and announced that the president had been shot. I will never forget the horror of that day, the feeling of loss and the tragedy of it remains with me to this day. My family passed the next week glued to the TV set. Inside my heart I knew that I was witnessing the end of an era. I mourned not only President Kennedys untimely death, but also an age of innocence.
