500 Daily Fight The Rut If you think it is only the lazy and the depressed that fall into a rut, you may have a point. That is until you, who doesn’t fit either category, depressed or lazy, falls right into one. A rut. The depressed are in a rut, because of their symptoms. The lazy, are tired and look to do nothing. These are not even aware that they are in a rut, until it is time to get out of the rut. Sure they learn quickly enough that they have established a pattern, though they believe that they are in control and can activate themselves, crank up their engines, at will. ‘It ain’t necessarily so’. Ruts may look shallow, looks are often deceiving when it comes to a rut and just how deep one can sink. Ruts are not reserved, labeled and earmarked for a particular type. Sure there are those that are lazy and couldn’t care less about it. Sometimes, they live and stay that way for their entire lives. Others, get sick, almost a cabin fever, of the life that they didn’t attempt to slip out of. There are all sorts of stimuli that might motivate one to renovate their lives. Ever follow a person that decided to make a change? Perhaps, even a drastic change such as to lose weight, get into better shape and begin to live a healthy lifestyle? It is exciting and exhilarating to observe someone that is doing something to improve their life. The result of watching leads to a participation. They, like ‘Rocky’, made a decision to fight. They must change gears, in that they have to turn up the energy a few notches. If they don’t give up, quit, they will once again, see the champion that lives within. Things die from boredom. Well perhaps, not directly, but no doubt, eventually. One way or another that is. You can sit around be a couch potato, eat, drink, get fat and lethargic. Most likely, you will die, prematurely; prior to age 65, to quote insurance industry statistics. Some people out of acute boredom, make some outlandish choices. These choices can lead to all sorts of problems. Once you come to terms and make the decision that it is time to make a major change, an overhaul and leave the rut, you will see that there are all sorts of support that you will receive. people love a winner. They will become supportive. Besides, you are not the only one going through things; others are too. The comradery that is all around you, in a world that has always been there, will astonish you and motivate you as well. So you got out of your rut. Fight the rut, became your mantra. What happens next? How do avoid falling back. into the hole? We’ve all witnessed people that lost a lot of weight, put it back again in time. People fall of the wagon, so to speak. This is a possibility. The most successful people, don’t necessarily attempt to beat their rut causes, rather, they fight the rut and once out, do the right things, the things that it takes to avoid falling back. This is done, one step at a time, one day at a time.
