6 months ago (in 2 days), I gave birth to the most beautiful little girl in the whole world. She was 8.53 lbs & 21 inches long, who knew something so small could have such a big impact? She makes me the happiest, proudest, most thankful mommy in the whole world every single day. With her, life is perfect, shes perfect. I could never ask for more. She makes me smile and laugh everyday, and sometimes she even makes me cry. Watching her grow and learn more and more is so bittersweet. Im so blessed to be able to share in that excitement and be a part of that. It also breaks my heart, Im getting teary as I write this because my little baby is growing up. As each day passes she gets a little more independent, a little bigger, a little closer to not needing mommy all the time. I look forward to seeing her walk and talk, but it will not come without the sadness of watching her grow out of my tiny snuggly nursling. I love watching her play, and hearing her say mama, & how excited she gets when I smile at her real big :) I will cherish every second of this time, it goes by much too quickly. Im also very thankful that we have made it to 6 months of exclusive breastfeeding! (And going strong!!) Wooohoo! I could not have asked her to do any better! Its been such an amazing journey and I never would have imagined the bond we would gain from it. Breastfeeding is such an amazing thing, not only is there nothing more powerful than being able to sustain life, but it so much more than just food. Its also comfort, and bonding, and I will forever be grateful I was able to have that relationship with my daughter.
