7/28/13 Here at this whole house we always use fresh butter, sea salt, cracked milled pepper, fresh cream, and whole milk. We use local from local farmers when we can. We create 98% of our food in our kitchen from scratch. We love good food and we want to share that experience with all that walk though our doors. With that being said here’s what’s on our menu tomorrow. We have juicy baked brown sugar pork chops waiting on you tomorrow. We take thick slices of pork chop and cover them with a little brown sugar, a little tomato Ketchup and a big old slice of sweet onion, bake them until they are good and flavorful. Now these taste like a BBQ chop, so if you want something that will please the “cook out” craving in you, come on by. Everyone knows that its tomato and peach season, sooooo we have the refreshing goodness of sliced local John’s Island tomatoes and crisp local pickling cucumbers mix with a sweet Georgia Vidalia onion, in a tangy Italian dressing...Can’t get much fresher than that! I usually save the fresh fruit until later, but since I mentioned the beautiful peach above, let me tell you about them. The sweetness of their nectar will bowl you over and we are mixing them with ripe golden casaba melon, (the casaba melon is a type of Muskmelon, it is closely related to honeydew and a cantaloupe). Drizzle a little honey over these fresh delectables. You get the complete enjoyment of the hot lazy days of summer. Our other side item is a Charleston Island grown vegetable as well, crisp cabbage which we steam with a little salt, cracked pepper, and butter. Tender and delicious this will complete your Sunday meal. We always have our other items to make you come back again and again to this whole house, like our fluffy scrambled eggs, our crisp bacon, buttermilk biscuits, sausage gravy, and French toast casserole. Our local (Columbia, SC) stone ground yellow grits are always a hit. We have our assortment of bite size sweets, and let’s not forget our amazing quiche. By the way, did you know that quiche originated in Germany? The word quiche means "cake" which came from the German word Kuchen. Today, quiche is considered as typically French). Just so you know. The two we have today are: baked chicken, fresh rosemary, and apple; and a vegetarian one with garbanzo beans, sugar snap pea, spring onion and broccoli. This is the best place to eat on Sunday in Summerville. All you can eat! NO ONE does it better!!!!!
